Animation Art Auction Miscellaneous
Adventure Oceans Kids All Access Show With Royal Caribbean Singers & Dancers

This has been a typical, do nothing but relax day at sea.  I woke up at about 10:00 AM and watched television until about 11:00 AM.  I went to mom and dad’s room and had the hardest part of the day, getting mom ready.  That took us about an hour and then we all went up to the Windjammer Café for lunch.  We saw Clyde and told him we were heading to the art auction.

The art auction today was all sports memorabilia and cartoon art.  We saw John, Carol and their kids at the pre auction.  Carol and the kids headed to Bingo and told us to keep an eye on John.  They are a real nice family.  The pizza stores they have actually make gourmet pizzas but they are not cooked when they are sent to you.  I think Clyde said they are called Make and Bake.

Animation Art Auction In The Centrum

There were four Betty Boops for dad to bid on today.  He put a prebid on two and ended up getting both.  I think he got one for $85 and one for $105.  I got another Speed Racer piece that looked like a movie poster really that was signed by the voices of Speed and Trixie.  I also got in on a group bid for a winter scene of the Flintstones.  Glenn Duncan got the same one while we were on his birthday cruise.  Mom bid on something also and it turns out we were bidding against Clyde.  It all worked out when Chad, our auctioneer gave them both the piece at $85.  John was good so we didn’t have to reel him in on bidding.  He bought a Shaggy and Scooby Doo the kids liked and that was it.

After the auction we hung out talking to Clyde in the Centrum for awhile and a guy from Columbia, MD who I asked him about his Grand Canyon rafting shirt.  He was on the cruise for his 60th birthday and had been on the Grand Canyon rafting eight and six years ago.  I really want to do that trip.  He answered some of the questions I had about cameras and picture taking.  I’ve got to talk Bedlow into that trip.

I left Clyde, mom and dad and went up to the Solarium.  By the time I had changed and got there they had shown up for pizza and hamburgers.  I hit the hot tub for about ½ hour while they ate.  I talked to a real nice guy who got out of business and bought a 10 bedroom bed and breakfast in Victoria, British Columbia called Abbey Moor.  I’ll have to check it out when I get home.  I joined mom and dad next for another ½ hour or so then we all came down to the rooms to get ready for dinner.

Dinner was good again but, I had a weird appetizer though.  It was a pineapple slice covered with spicy shrimp, orange and carrot shavings.  The orange picked up a lot of the spicy shrimp.  It was very surprising when you took the first bite.  It was really hot and really good.  Luckily mom got the same one so I got to finish hers off.  That was followed by my usual Caesars’ salad and a Salisbury steak covered with crabmeat (imitation though) and a béarnaise sauce.

We also had to new people at the table, Alex and his wife Maricel.  They are from southern Maryland and have traveled around a lot in a mobile home.  The wife is in a wheelchair also so we asked him a bunch of questions about traveling with the wheelchair.  Also apparently last night I gave Carol bad info on the free brownies and cookies at Ben & Jerry’s.  They are only free if you buy something first.  This helps John out though because Carol authorized him to get a milkshake a day so she could get a brownie.  Dad checked his email after dinner and while I was putting my computer back in my room he gave my beer away.  I mentioned at the show later that he had no problem giving it away but he never made much of an effort to replace it.  We went to settle our Park West purchases of the day with Chad and headed to the show for the evening.

Sarah - Who Helped At Art Auction In The All Access Show

The show was called All Access with the Royal Caribbean Singers & Dancers and was pretty good.  They sang and dance a bunch of 70’s tunes and finished with a Madonna medley although it was mostly Madonna songs I’ve never heard which was a little weird.  Dad and I spent the evening trying to figure which dancer was Sarah who was working the art auction during the day.  Boys will be boys.Royal Caribbean Singers & Dancers - All Access Show - Palladium Theater

The show ended and I took the parents back to their room and came back and finished my journal for the day.  Tortola is tomorrow but not until 1:00 PM.  There is a take off sale of the Park West art at 10.  We already have purchased 10 pieces on the cruise so I don’t know how many more we can handle.  Oh yeah, and mom’s piece of art she was bidding against Clyde was of Popeye at the Captain’s Wheel.
